Education...A Weapon?

The war on terror is a victory that's won,

Not with the boots on the battleground,

But the souls with the Son.

I have been mulling over in my mind victory in the war on terror. For certain, there are many facets.

But there's one key.

There's one absolutely necessary, unequivocally pertinent, key.

Education.

A real education, not the fabrications that U.S. universities are beginning to employ, but a real education, complete with the information that sets captives free.

Man seeks learning to free themselves from bondage that they cannot see with the human eye. The fabrications of education that are being employed in U.S. universities (and have been employed in universities around the world, that do not have a fundamental Christian component, but have been solidified and formulated in religious thought associated with pagan instruments) will never set captives free. Rather, because they are born of evil, they entangle recipients of their knowledge even further.

If boots on the battleground are not accompanied with real education that seeks to set captives free, we will be battling the air; boxing in the thin air (1 Corinthians 9:26). The New Testament author warns against this. We are to fight with a purpose. Perhaps this is where we are lacking. We think that the battle is for political gain. How wrong this assumption is!

What purpose is there in trumping one political agenda over another? In trumping one country or one regime over another? The purpose of our lives as fellow citizens of the United States, and as fellow citizens of a heavenly kingdom is to promote freedom, peace, and security that all men seek in the deepest part of their souls. What victory is there without this? We don't win when we win someone to a political side or a political agenda; we win when freedom, peace, and security are prevalent in the hearts of the people, not just the borders of the country.

How can these things be attained? Aren't these things a little too subjective to be fought over? How can we know when we have won if these concepts are the spurious points that we battle over?

Because the enemy has chosen weapons that are carnal, a peaceful country such as ours, is forced to take up arms. However, just as in the Old Testament story with Moses being pursued by the Egyptian army, we must also raise arms to the higher glory of God (Exodus 14). We know God has blessed us for a purpose. We've taken it up to a certain point in the battle in the war on terror, but, we've lacked a stalwarthiness to champion the efforts of the boots on the ground. Where is our spiritual gut?

Where would America be without the spiritual courage of our founding fathers? Oh, you can lie to yourself and tell yourself that this country had no spiritual bedrock; no foundation that was wrought in the bellows of Christlike sacrifice, but, you ignore the tenants of this country and of that which bought your very life about. America was formed of collective collaboration of men and women in alliance with the Holy Christ, brought about by the investments of men and women in their finances, personal commitments, spiritual commitments, and sacrifice of their lives for their faith.

That's how we got where we are. How dare the spirits of Antichrist suppress this?! How dare those who have a choice to make cause their choice to trump that which sets others free from that which enslaves them, themselves?!

I make no apology. Education, real, life changing education is necessary to gain victory in the war on terror. If children in the chains of Islamic teaching are not offered the Christian alternative, our children for generations to come will fight the same battles over and over, needlessly. They will box the air, suffering no triumph, but only defeat. So will we, in this current battle.

Let me indulge you, just a bit, on what Christian education really is. Yes, it teaches the full and complete story of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of a dying humanity and of dying humans. Now, isn't that offensive? Because, yes, we've taught ourselves that we're progressive, all the while attempting to present the most degenerate affront to one another.

Sorry to inform you; that's not progressive, it's not liberal, and it's definitely not liberating.

The story of Christ, who came to love even though we were unlovely is what is liberating. This is the education that sets captives free. It doesn't end there, though. It nurtures, mentors people in need, and challenges the thought of Islamic and other self-destructive attitudes. It stays involved until self-destruction is no longer a threat. You see, real education seeks the well being of the one who is taught.

To that end, real education can go so far as to dig water wells (such as James Robinson's ministry, and many others, I'm sure). It can build schools and hospitals (just as any number of Christian endeavors do). Real education can use all of its resources to rid an enemy stronghold of that which annihilates its own resources (including the most precious resource of people). It can then infiltrate, by any means and any mechanism, resources that promote the well-being of a nation and its people.

What do you think America really is doing, whether it be at home or in the recesses of the corners of the earth? We're defending our own, and in as much as God gives grace, we seek to defend those who don't yet know that they have the right to become children of God.

Now, isn't THAT offensive?!

Guess I could have saved you some time. To win the war on terror, we must give them what we have. Schools, churches, hospitals, business, education. And, the Christ that was the foundation of the building of our schools, churches, hospitals, business, education.

The war on terror is a victory that's won,

Not with the boots on the battleground,

But the souls with the Son.
