Dangerous Rhetoric in Political Climate

 

The Obama - Kennedy comparison is the first and foremost example to come to mind when I think of dangerous rhetoric in today's political climate. Sure, this may create a sense of nostalgia and an aura of excitement, however, the era of Kennedy was short lived and tragic. Those who make this comparison may want to reconsider the ramifications.

Of course there is a celebrity type quality about Obama. Many wish to capitalize on this quality which is normal and to be expected. Let people have their moment in the sun and basque in his popularity. Why not cherish the uniqueness of Obama's moment?

Comparing him to Kennedy, however, maybe a disservice to him.

Now, I'm far from a Democratic supporter, so, please stop scratching your head. I am a supporter of decency and fairness and human ambition. Anyone who aspires to the difficult debate process that today's political candidates do should be afforded the concern and protection that this level of involvement projects. While there's glorification in the Obama - Kennedy comparison, in a world where exists twisted and despised mentality, there's glorification in the assassination of Kennedy for some. Unfortunately, people are still disturbed and their plight in life may seem more highlighted than less with social extremes that we see.

On a less distinct level, campaign promises are sometimes dangerous rhetoric in themselves. I take the direction of America very seriously. Saying what you mean and meaning what you say still pulls weight with me. Don't place the burden of deciphering political speech upon your voters. If you believe what you say, as I know that my candidate of choice, Mike Huckabee, does, there will be voters standing with you. In the seriousness of this political outcome, having the most voters on your side may not be as important as remaining true to your convictions. My personal viewpoint is that this is most difficult for Democratic candidates simply because supporting things such as abortion will never ring true in the depths of your heart. Yes, there are many issues, but your stand on this one and your ability to remain steadfast on this one tells me a lot of what's in your heart.

Fox News, Brit Hume claim false sentiments against Romney

The conservative media are truly grasping for straws on this one. Brit Hume asked his "all-star panel" a leading question. The question was, "Why do the other Republican presidential candidates hate Mitt Romney?"

First, in journalism, that is considered a leading question. The question implies something. It implied that other Republican presidential candidates hate Mitt Romney and therefore the "all-star panel" had to come up with conclusions to fit the question. This first all-star reply was that other Republican presidential candidates hate Mitt Romney because 1, he's smart, 2, he's rich, and 3, he's handsome.

Yes, that's exactly why I hate him! (Their choice of words, not mine.)

Ok, I'm getting distracted from my main point. Let me get back to it.

I do not know where this leading question is coming from, do you?

I have seen other Republican presidential candidates behave in ways that I would consider most gracious towards Romney. They have held themselves in a place of better esteem than that. They are the ones who have withheld attacks, when others (including Romney, himself) have been on the attack. I haven't seen this hate for Romney from other Republican presidential candidates, likely because there is something amongst the other candidates that feels sorry for him. They know that he could never gain the nomination or the presidency.

I, on the other hand, have tried to point out that Romney is not the best choice for the Republican nomination. I hope that my initiatives have not colored the opinions of other fine Republican presidential candidates. I do have my bent towards Huckabee, and, I would hope that my defenses for him are not perceived as attack methods against Romney. I simply see something that gives me hope for America in the man from Hope, Mike Huckabee!

I don't see this in Romney and other Republican presidential candidates.

I don't know, maybe Brit Hume and Fox News (along with TownHall) think I'm not smart enough to pick a candidate.

Someone you can Run with in Huckabee

I'm loving this! I'm amazed! There is a front running presidential candidate out there that has the GOP base so excited, who's doing incredibly, amazingly, absolutely out of this world, awesomely well and the conservative media won't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

You actually have someone you can run with in Huckabee and you're looking down at the proverbial toe of your shoe. Can you imagine how well he would be doing if you actually put your head back up on your shoulders and highlighted some of the significant things that are happening with Mike Huckabee?

This is how well things would be going for the GOP if you run with Huckabee. You would have so much momentum and excitement that it would be hard to contain. There would no longer be talk of how things are stacked for a Democratic win.

Up against multimillion-dollar campaigns, Huckabee has come out so far ahead of them. Huckabee, with almost no money, has more excitement, momentum and potential than all of the other contenders put together. No one has to make excuses for him.

Huckabee's got it! Huckabee gets it!

Romney commercial fell flat

There might be a lesson to be learned, here. Fox News Channel spent all of that time, money, and energy to promote Romney and it fell flat.

Fox News might want to get behind someone who has gotten the momentum going by the things that he stands for. Townhall and Hugh Hewitt, as well, for that matter.

Huck has it. When will you get it?

All day Romney commercial on Fox News

Did you notice it? An all day Romney commercial on Fox News. Since TownHall has now connected with Fox News, apparently Fox has to adopt Hewitt's Romney endorsement.

I really thought it was very untactful and actually quite deprecating for Fox to take this stance. Once again, Fox is playing with the voters. And they are playing with the future of America. My future.

I believe that Fox has been misguided, just as TownHall's Hugh Hewitt has been. No, you don't know me and you don't know my face. Therefore, I can speak somewhat boldly without fear of reprehension (except a few words). I'm a pretty good read on things that sometimes people don't see. Point in case, the attempts to increase Romney support with the Fox News angles, yesterday. I will try to express those things, openly, and with a great deal of respect.

First of all, I do have a great deal of respect for the Fox News Channel and the way that they have stood for convictions that go against the mainstream media. I appreciate what I see in the heart of many of the news anchors and that they do not waffle like many in the mainstream media. That being said, there are misguided assumptions about "A Mormon in the White House".

When you have to candy coat someone's background and positions, you have to realize that the candy coating melts away. People are not unintelligent and can come to discover the truth about all of the candidates. Swallowing the Mormon belief system is pretty hard for me. Supporting someone who gives allegiance to this belief system will be hard for many. A person's core beliefs shape everything in their lives.

Perhaps this is what has made it difficult for Romney, himself, to adhere to basic convictions. When your core beliefs are difficult to hold onto, so are your convictions.

The American voter understands this. I believe that Republicans understand this most effectively because of their stance on abortion and homosexuality. The Democratic voter does not see conviction in the same light because a true belief system has regard for the well-being of others. Promoting abortion and homosexuality does not have regard for those entangled in these vicious cycles.

The truth will come out. It will come out in very broad daylight before the elections. What someone believes plays a huge role in their attractiveness to the voter public. It may not be popular to admit that, but, it's true. A great deal of embarrassment lies ahead for Romney and his Mormon friends and family. I do not wish this on Romney or any Mormon friends. They have a great deal of family loyalty which is to be commended. In a very unusual way, this characteristic is something that I think could be a negative when it comes to a Presidential candidate. Let me try to explain. . .

I admit, before I go any further, that I lean very strongly towards Mike Huckabee. I believe that he will surround himself with solid, upstanding people who will advise him towards greatest success for America. Experience, a presidential statesmanship look, and a massive bank account is not what I'm voting for. I'm voting for someone with strong core beliefs who has not waffled on the issues of abortion, for example, and who will surround himself with equally strong and stronger individuals. Sure, take Chuck Norris for an example. In a play on words, he's stronger than Mike Huckabee. If Huckabee has gotten to the tremendous places that he has on his own credentials, charisma, wit, and other presidential qualities, imagine him surrounded by many more solid, upstanding people who will advise him towards greatest success for America. I see Huckabee as someone who will listen to his advisers, not to mention, that he will listen to the counsel of the Bible. Yes, I believe that is pertinent for today. Yes, I believe that is of vital for today.

Romney's support group is a bit of a mystery, as are many things within the Mormon religion. Who will he surround himself with? Family loyalty can be a very commendable characteristic, however, those who are worthy of his attention may give advice on the premise of what will promote their own agendas. This kind of family loyalty is counterproductive to the greater success for America.

After Fox News day long Romney commercial, Romney has gained some support in New Hampshire. How strong Fox News angle has been and how effective.

However, are you really going to be able to keep this up, Fox and TownHall? You may be shooting the Republican Party in the foot. An immense amount of time and energy has been spent on your parts to promote Romney, but, I believe that the effect will fall flat in the end. The voter public can't stretch itself that far, in the long run.

It's very hard to detect this, but, one characteristic of the heart of the Christian is that they are somewhat modest and perhaps soft-spoken. (Unlike me in this piece, gulp!) This would lead one to believe that their numbers are small and their heart attitudes are insignificant. This would be a huge mistake in judgment. They are much more significant in numbers (and heart attitude) than what you see on the surface.

My apologies for my directness. I only had about 30 minutes to compile this information, this evening. I wish to not be offensive in any way. But I do wish to be straightforward in every way. Thank you for your time and your gentle consideration of these words.

The Hero Factor

 

There's this term that they've been throwing around. Friendly fire. I'm really not sure where that comes from...


Dear Pat,

Just wanted to let you know that I've heard about you in the news, lately. Thought I'd pass along my 2¢.

Oh, yes, it comes and goes. Your fame in the news headlines. I heard about you when the incident first happened and before, when you were a star football player. I find it funny, sometimes, how life and death goes. And how the hero factor comes into play, differently for each one, but still, much the same for all.

There's this term that they've been throwing around. Friendly fire. I'm really not sure where that comes from, in regards to the matters of war. There's no friendly fire in war. There's nothing friendly about war in any way, shape, or form.

You entered war knowing full well the risks, responsibilities, and rewards. The day you volunteered was the day that you gave it all.

I just wanted to say thank you to you and your fellow soldiers. I recognize that every day is and was a sacrifice. What direction the bullet came from has nothing to do with the hero factor.

What direction your heart is pointed at has everything to do with the hero factor.

Thank you for the place where your heart was. You laid down everything of fame and fortune to enter a service with a higher calling. You got called higher.

Thank you to your family, who recognized that you had something of a gift for your country, and who let you go. May they be embraced by the fact that you had the hero factor, because of the place where your heart was.

Yes, thank you to all the families and to all the Pat Tillman's, from many different walks of life. Thank you for everything you do.

Just an update

 Just a quick note to bring an update on my health issues, and, my participation, here.

I do apologize for not having kept my participation, here, current. The health issues I face are complicated by disability issues that I deal with on a daily basis. I've discovered that I have gallstones and have been advised to have surgery. Normally, this would be a routine, outpatient surgery. However, the disability issues complicate this matter and surgery could be very debilitating. In addition, the diagnostic efforts have uncovered uterine fibroids, which may or may not require surgery. I'm struggling with the decisions. This has effected my "writing mode", not necessarily my overall health on a daily basis. Therefore, please do accept my apologies for being out of the writing circle.

Keeping things in a low-key, very de - stressed attitude seems to be the best way I can avoid painful symptoms.

I know I've had indications from several of you of your prayers and I really appreciate that. Thank you for your understanding.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on National Television."I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia : one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said.

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia ." The Father's Face

You know, sometimes, the obvious is overlooked in my life.

Ever feel like that?

I like little reminders that a good sermon brings, in a gentle, loving way. I know a lot of really excellent pastors, and usually I like the present, reachable kind from my own little town. Once in awhile, I hear something on Christian television there really breaks through and ministers to my heart. Let me do my best to pass along this little blessing.

I was listening to Joel Osteen. Who doesn't like to listen to him? He's such a positive fellow and, while we know many blessings that he's been given, he does exactly what Lord would want and passes it on to the rest of us. That's what I want to do; pass it on.

This story really touched my heart I hope it will touch your heart, as well.

He told of a moment from his brother, Paul's, childhood. Joel makes me chuckle every time he talks about his brother, Paul, doesn't he you?

Anyway, as he tells the story, this was from a time before Paul had any siblings and was alone with just his mother and father. They had a habit of putting Paul (around the age of four) to bed and then going to their bedroom, next door.

They would have said their usual "good night Paul". However, this one particular night, Paul was feeling a bit afraid (again, just toddler age or so). He called out and said, "Daddy, are you still in there?"

"Yes, Paul," was the reply. "I'm still in here."

Apparently, as Joel tells the story, this did not settle Paul quite enough. He called out, again.

"Daddy, is your face turned towards me?"

 

How straight from the heart is that question? As a child of God, don't you want to know that your Heavenly Father has His face turned towards you? Don't you want to know?

How we struggle with that concept.

I echo the words that Joel Osteen concluded with, "I want you to know that your Heavenly Father has His face turned towards you!"

Remember the father of the prodigal son that Jesus told of? The father ran to meet his prodigal son, at the first moment that he saw his son coming home. His face was toward him, at even the slightest possibility of his son coming home. How could our Heavenly Father be any less so towards us?

The answer is, he could not be any less so. His face is turned towards you.

Your Heavenly Father has His face turned towards you.

Education...A Weapon?

 

The war on terror is a victory that's won,

Not with the boots on the battleground,

But the souls with the Son.

 

I have been mulling over in my mind victory in the war on terror. For certain, there are many facets.

But there's one key.

There's one absolutely necessary, unequivocally pertinent, key.

Education.

A real education, not the fabrications that U.S. universities are beginning to employ, but a real education, complete with the information that sets captives free.

Man seeks learning to free themselves from bondage that they cannot see with the human eye. The fabrications of education that are being employed in U.S. universities (and have been employed in universities around the world, that do not have a fundamental Christian component, but have been solidified and formulated in religious thought associated with pagan instruments) will never set captives free. Rather, because they are born of evil, they entangle recipients of their knowledge even further.

If boots on the battleground are not accompanied with real education that seeks to set captives free, we will be battling the air; boxing in the thin air (1 Corinthians 9:26). The New Testament author warns against this. We are to fight with a purpose. Perhaps this is where we are lacking. We think that the battle is for political gain. How wrong this assumption is!

What purpose is there in trumping one political agenda over another? In trumping one country or one regime over another? The purpose of our lives as fellow citizens of the United States, and as fellow citizens of a heavenly kingdom is to promote freedom, peace, and security that all men seek in the deepest part of their souls. What victory is there without this? We don't win when we win someone to a political side or a political agenda; we win when freedom, peace, and security are prevalent in the hearts of the people, not just the borders of the country.

How can these things be attained? Aren't these things a little too subjective to be fought over? How can we know when we have won if these concepts are the spurious points that we battle over?

Because the enemy has chosen weapons that are carnal, a peaceful country such as ours, is forced to take up arms. However, just as in the Old Testament story with Moses being pursued by the Egyptian army, we must also raise arms to the higher glory of God (Exodus 14). We know God has blessed us for a purpose. We've taken it up to a certain point in the battle in the war on terror, but, we've lacked a stalwarthiness to champion the efforts of the boots on the ground. Where is our spiritual gut?

Where would America be without the spiritual courage of our founding fathers? Oh, you can lie to yourself and tell yourself that this country had no spiritual bedrock; no foundation that was wrought in the bellows of Christlike sacrifice, but, you ignore the tenants of this country and of that which bought your very life about. America was formed of collective collaboration of men and women in alliance with the Holy Christ, brought about by the investments of men and women in their finances, personal commitments, spiritual commitments, and sacrifice of their lives for their faith.

That's how we got where we are. How dare the spirits of Antichrist suppress this?! How dare those who have a choice to make cause their choice to trump that which sets others free from that which enslaves them, themselves?!

I make no apology. Education, real, life changing education is necessary to gain victory in the war on terror. If children in the chains of Islamic teaching are not offered the Christian alternative, our children for generations to come will fight the same battles over and over, needlessly. They will box the air, suffering no triumph, but only defeat. So will we, in this current battle.

Let me indulge you, just a bit, on what Christian education really is. Yes, it teaches the full and complete story of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of a dying humanity and of dying humans. Now, isn't that offensive? Because, yes, we've taught ourselves that we're progressive, all the while attempting to present the most degenerate affront to one another.

Sorry to inform you; that's not progressive, it's not liberal, and it's definitely not liberating.

The story of Christ, who came to love even though we were unlovely is what is liberating. This is the education that sets captives free. It doesn't end there, though. It nurtures, mentors people in need, and challenges the thought of Islamic and other self-destructive attitudes. It stays involved until self-destruction is no longer a threat. You see, real education seeks the well being of the one who is taught.

To that end, real education can go so far as to dig water wells (such as James Robinson's ministry, and many others, I'm sure). It can build schools and hospitals (just as any number of Christian endeavors do). Real education can use all of its resources to rid an enemy stronghold of that which annihilates its own resources (including the most precious resource of people). It can then infiltrate, by any means and any mechanism, resources that promote the well-being of a nation and its people.

What do you think America really is doing, whether it be at home or in the recesses of the corners of the earth? We're defending our own, and in as much as God gives grace, we seek to defend those who don't yet know that they have the right to become children of God.

Now, isn't THAT offensive?!

Guess I could have saved you some time. To win the war on terror, we must give them what we have. Schools, churches, hospitals, business, education. And, the Christ that was the foundation of the building of our schools, churches, hospitals, business, education.

The war on terror is a victory that's won,

Not with the boots on the battleground,

But the souls with the Son.

A Time For Change
The Speech that changed America.

     LOS ANGELES - I am going to talk of controversial things. I make no apology for this. It's time we asked ourselves if we still know the freedoms intended for us by the Founding Fathers. James Madison said, "We base all our experiments on the capacity of mankind for self government."
     This idea? that government was beholden to the people, that it had no other source of power is still the newest, most unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to man. This is the issue of this election: Whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American Revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capital can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.
     You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream-the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, "The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits."
     The Founding Fathers knew a government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing.
     Public servants say, always with the best of intentions, "What greater service we could render if only we had a little more money and a little more power." But the truth is that outside of its legitimate function, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector.
     Yet any time you and I question the schemes of the do-gooders, we're denounced as being opposed to their humanitarian goals. It seems impossible to legitimately debate their solutions with the assumption that all of us share the desire to help the less fortunate. They tell us we're always "against," never "for" anything.
     We are for a provision that destitution should not follow unemployment by reason of old age, and to that end we have accepted Social Security as a step toward meeting the problem. However, we are against those entrusted with this program when they practice deception regarding its fiscal shortcomings, when they charge that any criticism of the program means that we want to end payments....
     We are for aiding our allies by sharing our material blessings with nations which share our fundamental beliefs, but we are against doling out money government to government, creating bureaucracy, if not socialism, all over the world.
     We need true tax reform that will at least make a start toward I restoring for our children the American Dream that wealth is denied to no one, that each individual has the right to fly as high as his strength and ability will take him.... But we can not have such reform while our tax policy is engineered by people who view the tax as a means of achieving changes in our social structure....
     Have we the courage and the will to face up to the immorality and discrimination of the progressive tax, and demand a return to traditional proportionate taxation? . . . Today in our country the tax collector's share is 37 cents of -very dollar earned. Freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp.
     Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for your community? Realize that the doctor's fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can't socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he'll eat you last.
     If all of this seems like a great deal of trouble, think what's at stake. We are faced with the most evil enemy mankind has known in his long climb from the swamp to the stars. There can be no security anywhere in the free world if there is no fiscal and economic stability within the United States. Those who ask us to trade our freedom for the soup kitchen of the welfare state are architects of a policy of accommodation.
     They say the world has become too complex for simple answers. They are wrong. There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right. Winston Churchill said that "the destiny of man is not measured by material computation. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we are spirits-not animals." And he said, "There is something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty."
     You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.

"Conservative" media? Wow! You could have had a V-8! (and possibly, still could)

It's a bit disconcerting when the conservative party leaders (and media!) are promoting the likes of Giuliani, McCain, and Romney to be our Champion. I don't like the idea of judging the book by its cover, but we've seen deep inside of these fellows, with an attempt to unveil something that resonates with conservative and the bait has pulled up no fish worthy of anything but to be thrown back into the sea. I don't care how perfect you think their hair is!

Did you catch the one tiny, minute positive spin that I put on this dilemma?

". . . no fish worthy of anything but to be thrown back into the SEA!"

We're not dealing with the year of no shows; it's not a trickle, stream, creek, river or lake. There's a whole sea of conservative options that resonate with traditional Republican values. We're not in slim pickings. Why aren't the conservative media and conservative party leaders opting for a V-8? Victory in 08!

A severe mistake is occurring. Compensating for (apologizing for) strong moral stances and values oriented publicity is creating that opposite but equal attraction to lieu voters to "our side". There's a problem here.

Conservative voters far outweigh left wing, Democratic voters. Appealing to the minority will not result in V-8.

The solution? A real conservative candidate will bring out the real conservative voter base. Almost any but the 3 highly esteemed media candidates will fit the bill better. In no particular order and just pulling off the top of my head there's: Tancredo, Huckabee, Gingrich, Hunter, Brownback, a possible Santorum and that fellow that I thought would only be a spoiler, Alan Keyes. (After hearing him, I really like Keyes...has some guts.)

Though you've not shown me much about them, conservative media, I like more in the glimpses of their character than the gape at the characters that I've seen in Guiliani, McCain, and Romney.

You're putting the conservative, mainstream voter on the stretcher, conservative media! You're asking the Republican mainstream to put their arms around concepts that grind against the moral fiber that makes up and that makes strong the conservative mainstream. You're not bringing out the left wing, Democratic based voters; you're shutting out the Republican, conservative base. Truth were told, you're acting more like you're in bed with the left-wing media, diluting the strength of the conservative Republican Party.

Conservative media has a role to play in the 2008 election.

You have a million chances to trump the underdog! Conservative media could take any of the "lesser" candidates and make them as much the star as you have Guiliani, McCain, and Romney. The Republican voter base would be charged by the truthful conservative candidate, and the war on terror would be back in our court! The fact is, you can't tout any candidate as President material until you see them perform. Someone who has stuck to their guns on the lesser playing fields will strike fear in the hearts of those who dare tantalize America with their terror threats. Giuliani, McCain, and Romney may all have fine qualities that make them the choice for the Republican ticket in the eyes of the media, but, my eyes (as a conservative voter) like the looks of any of the "lesser" candidates far more than these 3 Musketeers!

America could very well lose with the any of these 3 highly touted media choices for President. In today's war climate, American needs a leader with spiritual fortitude as well as "The Plan" for victory over terrorism. The conflict that we're in requires an understanding of the spiritual battlefield, not just the boots on the ground. In other words, America needs a well-rounded candidate; not a drag queen, confused militant, or Mormon in sheep's clothing.

Judgment is ours. We can't throw it to the winds of the media. When did that EVER make sense?!

I'm more than just a little confused; I'm pretty darned angry. You have so much more to work with, conservative media, than the 3 Musketeers. I'm not a child who has to be made to kiss and make up to a brother or sister because we've had a disagreement that caused us to shun each other. I'm grown up with life-and-death stakes in the political arena. The reason I'm a conservative Republican voter is because of beliefs that I hold.

I want to stick to my guns when it comes to voting. I'm not swayed by the media hype surrounding the 3 Musketeers. I want to get to know the candidates who espouse beliefs that resonate with my own.

It's not hard to do, conservative media! We've got a lot more to choose from, and with your power base as a multimillion-dollar multimedia conservative media operation, you've got a part to play. Use your position to promote the character of our real choices, not just the characters of Guiliani, McCain, and Romney. I still don't know who these characters really are, based on the fact that they don't seem to know who they are. They're in a script. We need someone who is able to act in life unscripted. This is real life, there's a real war, there are real solutions that won't come from the 3 Musketeers.

I guess there's one difference in me "crying out as a voice in the wilderness" from that of the big, multimillion-dollar multimedia conservative media outlets. I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe and to stick to my guns. I'm not ashamed of my moral stances and any value oriented publicity.

And, when I vote my conscience, I really want to be doing that. Voting my conscience, not my best compromise!

Wow! That's what a V-8 is to me.

Please, don't make us say, "Wow! We could have had a V-8!"

Thanks for your kind notes and prayers. I'll try to update, with as much as I know, at this point.

Nothing definitive has been offered to me. I've gone through some miniature testing, and am scheduling for further testing to be done at the hospital within the next couple of weeks. The pain and nausea are somewhat cyclical, and I'm feeling better than a couple of weeks ago. More testing will hopefully provide a more definitive answer. This leaves me at the present, however, with many questions and uncertainties.

Who said life was full of uncertainties? That applies pretty well to how I'm feeling. Of this, however, I am certain, that Lord knows where I am and what I'm going through. My times are in His hand.

Perhaps I'll be able to be more specific when I have more information. For now, I'll participate as I can and try to keep up to speed with my writing and responses. Thank you for understanding that I may not be as fully engaged as I had been in the past. Being quite subdued seems to keep my symptoms more at bay.

dealing with my health

 

Hi to my visitors:

I dearly appreciate your feedback. You give me so much to think about, and I appreciate the thoughtful input that you supply. Some rather unusual circumstances are affecting my health, and I may not be able to post for a time.

I don't want to lose your friendship, and the challenges that you offer to my writing, so I hope to be back very soon. I would like to pick up right where we left off, with the hopes that it will only be a day or two!

I certainly want to respond to visitors at my last post. I believe that the topic is important, and the thoughts it's provoked from you all are very, very important.
